Mephedrone is sold in the uk as a research chemical strictly not for human consumption. Any company that sells mephedrone or uses it for medical purposes can only legally do so with a licence from the home office. There are some medical professionals that are using mephedrone along with some other analogue drugs to research the benefits it can have in couples counselling. There is evidence found that shows it helps couple to communicate better whilst stimulated by the drug and this in turn helps resolve some of the issues they may have.

Although mephedrone is legal in the UK this does not mean it is safe to consume. Some people are getting confused thinking because it is legal it must be safe. This is not necessarily true. On 23rd December 2009 new legislation came in prohibiting the sale of legal highs sold on the internet. This includes spice gold, legal E, Blow, Charge, JWH and most other legally traded highs on the internet. The main reason for this is that these legal E’s have mixed contents and are not clear what is on sale. These legal highs are now class B Controlled substances. People are confused as to whether this includes 4-mmc. 4-mmc is a research chemical and is not included in the list of class B Legal highs. 4-mmc can still be bought and sold and its legal status is not likely to be changing for at least 3-6 months. UK laws take months to pass through parliament and as for 4-mmc it is likely it will take some time before laws are passed. It is however likely to become a class B Drug but there will be plenty of warning at least 1 month before the law is in action.

If you are caught either in possession or supplying 4-mmc you are likely to be arrested as police are will think it is a class A drug. It is likely that you will spend a night in a cell while the 4-mmc is tested to see if it is a controlled drug. Once the police have the results back and realised it is not classified in the misuse of drugs act it is likely that you will be free to go without being charged. The only bad thing about being arrested is that you will waist time at a police station and lose your stash which is a bad day which most would prefer not to have. READ LESS
